Fruit of the Spirit

Jesus told us the greatest commandment of Al commandments is Love.
Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind”

 - Matthew 22: 37

”And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” - Matthew 22: 39

Love is one of the 9 parts that make up the ONE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people“ 

- Luke 2: 10

The gift of joy is vital in taking us through both good times and bad.

 “The joy of the Lord is your strength“ 

- Nehemiah 8: 10

Another great evidence of the Holy Spirit is Peace. With Peace you are not distracted or dismayed by the troubles and other things of the world, but rather you are able to take comfort and trust that the Holy Spirit is leading you down the right path by the power of God.

”Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid”

- John 14: 27

The bible also tells us “Blessed are the peacemakers”

- Matthew 5: 9

- James 3: 18

”And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”

- Phillipians 4: 7

We understand that life can be difficult and painful at times. Your ability to endure highlights the depth of your love for God and your patience while enduring.

“The Lord is long suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and forth generation“

- Numbers 14: 18

”Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: And thy gentleness hath made me great” 

- 2 Samuel 22: 36

God calls us to be gentle because he is merciful. Gentleness welcomes attributes of forgiveness, empathy, compassion, meekness and kindness. When you don’t have gentleness you are unforgiving, lacking empathy or compassion, lacking humility and unkind.

Gentleness is a part that makes up the One Fruit of the Spirit. All 9 parts that make up One Fruit.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”

- Psalm 23: 6.

Another way of understanding the goodness of God is as simple as understanding all his blessings and provisions to us on this earth as well as his ways. All Gods ways show his mercy and greatness, that reveal his everlasting goodness that makes him great.
“He Loveth righteousness and judgement: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord”

- Psalm 33: 5

We see evidence of his goodness when we look at everything he gave us on earth as well as, his forgiveness of our sins, his sacrifice to give us himself in flesh as Jesus, his only begotten Son to die for our Sins, his goodness in his love and mercy to supply our needs even when we don’t deserve it. 

”O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: For his mercy endures for ever”

- Psalm 136: 1

What is Faith? Or better question, what is having Faith?

”Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”

- Hebrews 11: 1

Then we may ask, how important is having Faith to God?
“But without Faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God use believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of the hat diligently seek him”

- Hebrews 11: 6

Understanding Faith is one thing but knowing its importance to God is another. Now we understand, it’s  impossible for us to please God without having Faith.The evidence of things not seen is the greatest exercise of Faith. to show God you believe you already have something before you have ever received it is an action that credits both the presence and power of the Holy Ghost in you.

If we also look unto JESUS, he spoke of God’s kingdom and his glory as evidence of them even though they weren’t seen, by his act of Faith, we must also follow in his footsteps to believe in all things in substance of the evidence of being unseen. Believing in something you can’t see is evidence of Faith.

”looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”

- Hebrews 12: 2

Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”

- Matthew 11: 29

By being filled with the Holy Spirit, we receive the yoke of Jesus. He asks us to learn of him, which means to observe him for being meek and lowly in heart that we may follow the same so that we may find rest for our souls. By resting in him, we are promised to inherit the earth and delight in abundance of peace.

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace”

- Psalm 37: 11

”Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth”

- Matthew 5: 5

One of the driving forces of Sin is lack of Self-Control. Just think about being able to control your flesh by allowing the Holy Spirit to take full control. To allow the Holy Spirit full control, we must first exercise Self-Control. The Holy Spirit cannot take hold of a vessel that is undisciplined and lacks control.

  Think about not having control of your temper, your lustful desires, your anger, your ignorance and so many other things that require Self-Control. It would be unlikely that the Holy Ghost can take control of and dwell in a vessel that is undisciplined.
- “He that hath no rule over his own Spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls”

 Self-Control in the flesh becomes Temperance with full control by the Holy Spirit. This is another part that makes up all parts of ONE FRUIT.

LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG SUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS AND TEMPERANCE
